Brothers Peter (26) and Andrew (23) Walker were born and bred in Rangitikei
but live and work on a family farm in the deep south of the Catlins.
Kiwi blokes, they are both pretty handy with the hammer, and Pete, a
former plumber, aspires to one day fly choppers for a living. Younger
brother Andy is married to his childhood sweetheart Nikita.
These lads like to joke around, but don’t be fooled, both are practical
and very competitive; Andy says he hates to lose despite the fact Pete
usually wins, but that’s normally by default as he’s the oldest. Mates,
motocross and rugby usually keep these boys busy in their downtime.
Pete and Andy are keen to show New Zealand what a pair of
practical Kiwi blokes can achieve – and they “could do with the
money to finish renovating Pete’s house”.
Pete is currently renovating his own house and ropes Andy
in to helping him at every chance. It’s no surprise with their
tradie skills they’ve knocked down most of the walls, created
an open-plan kitchen and living area, and a new bathroom
and laundry. They’ve even dabbled with wallpaper in their
bid to transform Pete’s place.
They describe their style as modern, with Pete’s main
focus on functionality. He says for the most part
emphasising functionality will be an
advantage as it should appeal to a
large amount of buyers and make
accessing what fixtures and
furnishings they want easier. They
may not be trendsetters, but
they know what they like
and are not afraid of trying
to recreate what they’ve
